Do you feel sometimes like you do one step forward and two steps back? But this is only our limited perception of things, in our mind it always has to go up, forward, more, deeper, further etc. Just like a wave at the shore that splashes on the shore, retrieves in itself back before expressing itself with different force, size and timeframe. Everything has its rhythm and fighting it that is were the suffering and pain comes in. When it is actually time to reflect, collect and gather strength to move forward with the gained wisdom and ease.
That’s where yoga comes in again. Can we practice yoga without any forcing of the body? Let the injuries and limitations guide us to find solutions? Learn how to challenge ourselves without harming ourselves? Enjoy where we are at right now, knowing every moment is a new beginning and is not coming back?
I always believed in the importance of being authentic and supported young teachers to discover and nurture this treasure. The way one communicates on the mat and teaches should be a reflection of ones own personality and understanding of needs and capabilities, because it is experienced and lived by ones own body.
I recently found out that someone has been copy/pasting the content of my blog and website for their own promotional use. It is very flattering, but I would appreciate if you don’t do this. Writing and posting the content on the channels requires a lot of time and energy and it is my own, unless I quote someone then I credit them for it.
Everyone of us has his/her own way of moving and the body expresses itself in its uniqueness, and that is what makes us who we are. I found there lies the beauty that it is filled with grace. Just like in nature where nothing is identical. I encourage you to commit to your practice and always keep on learning about yourself, to get inspired by others and remain authentic and true to yourself.
“I can see clearly now the rain is gone I can see all the obstacles in my way Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind It’s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day…” ~ Jimmy Cliff
Even though intentions are better to implement or work with than resolutions, often we still get thrown of the path. I believe the reason is that we have these intentions, but don’t change anything else in our life or in our behavior/habits; so after a while we end up at square one again. We need to be willing to change or shift our focus or priorities which means things can’t stay exactly as they are.
The first step in the right direction is clarity. What do I really want and why! That on it’s own will free up empowering energy.
We can practice this of course also on the mat. Meaning that you become clear about the intention for yoga practice each time you step on your mat. Every day is treating you differently, so intentions might change or shift. Some of you might unconsciously do this already, but I would like to invite you to make conscious choices this week!

while most of us having troubles adjusting to the time change, the new season brings lots of renewal energy and excitement with. Like some of you know it has been raining here in Spain heavily for almost two weeks now. Today some sun rays came and showed nature in a complete different image. Hills that are usual just red dirt look like the Scottish Highlands while some bigger plants got unrooted. It is again like anything else in life about the balance. Finding a sense of grounding is always helpful to grow in any direction.
have you ever noticed when you do not judge, have expectations nor attachments, life is more pleasant and full of surprises.
“Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. Everything happens at exactly the right moment, neither too soon nor too late. You don’t have to like it… it’s just easier if you do.” ~ Byron Katie
the last two world events made me think of freedom of choice, so I was researching it and came across the following.
Liberty not only means that the individual has both the opportunity and the burden of choice; it also means that he must bear the consequences of his actions. Liberty and responsibility are inseparable. ~ Friedrich August von Hayek
Mindfulness gives you time. Time gives you choices. Choices, skillfully made, lead to freedom. You don’t have to be swept away by your feeling. You can respond with wisdom and kindness rather than habit and reactivity. ~ Henepola Gunaratana
F.E.A.R. has two meanings – Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise. The choice is yours. ~ Sayings
Life is a sum of all your choices”. So, what are you doing today? ~ Albert Camus
DEAR BEAUTIFUL BEINGS, I believe in the power of transformation. When a community as a whole moves, from a state of love, compassion and peace – all good things are possible. It is my humble action to bring assistance to the most vulnerable in Ukraine with the help of our collective consciousness. I invite you to participate in this charity class where we will practice meditative breathing and easy slow flow yoga dedicated to those in need.
“There is hope in people, not society, not in systems, but in you and me.” ~ Krishnamurti
The class is dedicated to assisting vulnerable Ukrainians in need, and your commitment to making a donation on their behalf is greatly appreciated This is a trustworthy organization where you may make your donation – they give psychological and psychosocial support to children in Ukraine:

Like I mentioned before I love the simplicity of how he says things, but never easy to apply. “Probably since the beginning of man human beings have had no peace at all. And there have been a great many organisations, including this organisation, to bring about peace in the world – pacem in terris. But there has been no peace. For various obvious reasons: nationalism, which is glorified tribalism, various opposing religions, divisions of classes, races and so on… We are responsible for this society, which is corrupt, immoral, violent, divisive, cruel and so on. We have created this, this society in which we live. We are the society… And we human beings seem to be incapable of living peacefully in our relationship with each other, living peacefully without any dogmatism, ideals, concepts. Because beliefs, faith, conclusions, ideals, have separated man. And man apparently has not been able to live without any of those bondages… The conditioning as an American, as a European, Hindu and so on, is it possible for us, who are so advanced in technology, is it possible for us to radically, fundamentally, bring about psychological change? This is really a very, very serious question. This is what the biologists, bio-technologists are trying to do; trying to bring about a radical change in the very brain cells themselves so that human beings can live peacefully, not everlastingly fight each other… So facing all this, not abstractly, as a human being, what is he to do actually? Form another group? Another religion? Another Institution? Or as a human being become aware of his conditioning, be concerned with his conditioning and free the brain from that conditioning. Otherwise we are going to have perpetual wars, there will be no peace on earth in spite of all the religions, in spite of every institution. It must begin with us, not with somebody else out there… So is there psychological security, either in the family, in a group, in a community, in a nation, and internationalism and all that business? Is there any kind of security inwardly? And that is, if we are not sure about that, certain, clear, we try to seek security outwardly, externally, through nations, through religious organisations, through some ideologies… So we ought to really seriously enquire into this question. That is become aware, conscious, of our relationship with each other because to go very far we must begin very near. And the nearest is man and woman, wife and husband. In that relationship there is conflict as there is now, then that conflict is spread;… The wars that are going on in the world is our war, because our consciousness – if I can go into all this much more deeply – our human consciousness, which is made up of biological reactions, fears, hurts, pleasure, beliefs, dogmas, rituals and endless suffering – that is the content of our consciousness. If you observe this closely it is a fact that every human being throughout the world shares this, every human being suffers, every human being has fear, pleasure, sense of loneliness, despair, anxiety, confusion – every human being, whether they live in the Far East, or here, or in Russia, or in other places… So each one is humanity, not separate individuals. I know you will not accept this because you have been conditioned from the beginning by religions, by society, by culture, that each one is separate individuals, separate soul, and therefore he must seek his own salvation, his own expression, his own fulfilment. And this so-called separate individuality is creating havoc in the world. Which does not mean that we all become the same automatic, turned out in the same mould. On the contrary. Freedom is the highest form of existence. It is the greatest art, to live freely… ~Krishnamurti (excerpts: causes of war – NY public talk 1984)

One of a few things we can do at the present situation is being a light in this world and sending peaceful intentions out.
May all being have happiness and the causes of happiness. May all being be free from suffering and causes of suffering. May all being never be parted from freedom’s true joy. May all beings dwell in equanimity, free from attachment and aversion.
“No matter how smart we are β no matter how scientifically or technologically advanced, and no matter how much financial or political power we have β without humility we are misguided, without ethics we are blind, and without love we are doomed.
Love is the natural intelligence that runs the universe. So where there is love, life works pretty well. Things proceed in alignment with the same intelligence that turns acorns into oak trees and embryos into babies. When love is withheld, the system gets jammed and intelligence malfunctions. It still operates, but in an inverted, diseased way. Each of us affects the whole, with every thought we think and every action that we take.” ~ Marianne Williamson
My all time favorite when it comes to Yoga Philosophy is Krishnamurti. His writings are always deeply thought provoking and simple, but never easy.
“Love is something that is new, fresh, alive. It has no yesterday and no tomorrow. It is beyond the turmoil of thought. It is only the innocent mind which knows what love is, and the innocent mind can live in a world which is not innocent. To find this extraordinary thing which man has sought endlessly through sacrifice, through worship, through relationship, through sex, through every form of pleasure and pain, is only possible when thought comes to understand itself and comes naturally to an end. Then love has no opposite. Then love has no conflict. If you donβt know what to do, you do nothing. Absolutely nothing. Then inwardly you are completely silent. Do you understand what that means? It means that you are not seeking, not wanting, not pursuing; there is no centre at all. Then there is love.” (To read more go to Krishnamurti) ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
